The Music Man opens July 15th and will play through Aug.8th. The advance ticket sales have been terrific. Don’t wait to reserve your seats. Many of the performances are selling very well.
Smokey Joe’s Café will open on August 19 and run through September 12. The music of this legendary rock and roll songwriting duo light up the stage. Featuring hits from the '50s and '60s, this sizzling revue will have you on your feet and dancing. Jerry Leiber and Mike Stoller may not be household names, but their 45-year collaboration has yielded some of the most famous rhythm and blues and rock and roll hits of all time including "On Broadway," "Love Potion #9," "Stand By Me" and "Hound Dog."
It seems our fund raising activities have really kicked into full speed! During The Music Man and Smokey Joe’s Café we will selling tickets for to win a one week stay in a Naples, Florida pool home in a gated community. This is good for a one week stay in January of 2011 on a mutually agreeable date. The pool home, gratiously donated by our Board Chair, Dolly Ballou, includes two bedrooms, two baths, laundry facility, cable, a pool, and great Florida weather. Tickets are $25.00 each and may be purchased during the show. Only 250 tickets will be sold. The drawing of the winner will take place after the final matinee of “Smokey Joe’s” on Sept. 12th.
Every Tuesday evening in July, Fratello’s Restaurant, located at 32085 Electric Blvd, in Avon Lake, Ohio is donating 10% of all dine in food purchases to the theatre. Great food for a great cause and you will find me there each Tuesday evening enjoying the food, service and hopefully your company.
We are still looking for people to sign up for our New York City tour. Don’t forget as the Huntington Reservation becomes more and more popular, plan to arrive early, feel free to park on the grass in the lot north of the building, and consider visiting the restaurant next door- Vento’s. They have a great theatre and happy menu. Be sure to tell them you are seeing a show and they will make sure you get to your seats on time.
