Youth Theatre

2008 Children's Theatre Program

Huntington Playhouse is offering children’s theatre classes in spring, summer and fall during the 2008 season.  You may get your registration forms by downloading them from here.
Spring Sessions (Click here for a registration form)
Creative Dramatics
•	Ages 5 to 7 (must be 5 years old by Jan. 30, 2008)
•	Classes will be held on Saturdays starting April 5 through May 10 (six weeks)
•	Class time: 9:30 AM to 10:30 AM
•	Cost: $80.00
	This class will serve as an introduction to theatre and acting for the beginner and non-reader.  The class will focus on acting through use of puppetry, manipulative crafts, and story telling.  The acting experience will be taught through role play and pantomime. There will be a short presentation for family & friends on the last day of class.
Acting & Theatre Presentation
•	Ages 8 to 12
•	Classes will be held on Saturdays starting April 5 through May 17 (seven weeks)
•	Class time: 11:00 AM to 12:30 PM
•	Cost: $100.00
	This is a theatre and acting class for the reader using an approach to acting through pantomime, improvisation, monologue and dialogue. It provides a valuable introduction for the beginner and an extension of knowledge for those with some theatre experience. There will be a short presentation open to family & friends on the last day of class on May 17th.
Summer Sessions (Click here for a registration form)
Huntington Playhouse will have two summer sessions of youth theatre classes.  These mini-theatre camps will concentrate on acting, show preparation and stage craft work.
Session One
	Sessions for children who are in grades 1-3 (your child must be entering grades 1-3 in August 2008) will be held from June 16 to June 28 from 10:00 AM to 11:30 AM.  Classes will be held Mondays through Fridays.  The two week session will culminate in a performance for family and friends on June 28th.  Cost is $125.00.
Session Two
	This session will also concentrate on the performing arts.  Beginners and experienced performers are welcome.  This three week class will start July 7 and run through July 26 from 10:00 AM to 12 Noon, Mondays through Fridays.  The class session will end with a performance for families and friends on July 26.  Cost is $175.00

The instructor for the classes will be Judy Mazur.  You may direct questions to her via e-mail at mazington@wowway.com.  She will also be available for in-person registration and questions on June 13th from 3:00 PM to 5:00 PM.
